We have tested the FS22 terminal from the Facitel brand and we have found many interesting points designed for the elderly.
Buttons and physical appearance
First of all, its design stands out with a manageable size that has a folding screen and a robust construction. The phone is available in red or black colors.
The screen on its front cover has 2 indicator lights for calls and battery level warning.
The keyboard has large, clearly defined, high-contrast function keys, although there is no great separation between them.
There are side volume control keys which we value very positively compared to other models. Additionally, it has a dedicated key to enable the very high volume that raises the ringtone by 25dB. There are also M1 and M2 keys for memorizing frequent numbers.

Menu and texts
In the menus, the font size is large and has a good contrast.
The menus are presented in a list format with all the options displayed. Due to the large font size, it is necessary to wait for the text to scroll horizontally on the screen to read all the content. This format is successful as it avoids getting lost in more complex submenus.

SOS button
The phone has an SOS button to communicate emergencies that sends an emergency call and message to the previously selected contacts.
After pressing it, an emergency tone is activated through the loudspeaker, but the calls take time to progress therefore it can generate some uncertainty in the user.
Additionally you can configure low battery SMS notification to selected contacts.

Calls and SMS
The volume of the calls can be controlled in real time from the side button and even increased by 25 dB from the dedicated button that includes the keyboard. This maximum volume being quite high.
The phone allows you to include up to 8 photo contacts in such a way that by pressing the down key of the cursor you can see a photo of the contact associated with each number to perform a speed dial.
The phone has a loudspeaker for hands-free use.
Sending SMS messages is a simple procedure.
One of the points for improvement that we have seen is the time it takes for calls to progress since a dialing occurs since it is much higher than other phones that we have tested.
Camera
The camera that incorporates the terminal is low resolution, but it is enough to take basic photos or use the magnifying glass functionality.
Manual
The manual included in the product box is small and does not include all the possible functionalities, in addition, the product website does not include any version in digital format that provides more information.
FM radio and audio playback
The FM radio does not have a Jack output for the use of headphones so it can only be heard with a speaker or through Bluetooth or USB headphones.
The FM radio incorporated in this phone does not have a high quality of sound and tuning, possibly due to not making use of the Jack connection headphones as an antenna as in the case of other models.
The phone has functionality for recording and storing audio using the microphone.
Charging base
The product includes a charging base that fits well. The phone has a light signal and a charging confirmation sound to make sure that it is correctly placed on the base.

Battery
The battery capacity is 800 mAh that provide a range of 160 hours in standby or 5,5 hours on call.
Additional storage
There is the possibility of including additional storage via SD card. This is necessary for video recording or Mp3 audio storage.
Connectivity
It does not have connectivity via WiFi or mobile data.
It incorporates Bluetooth for, among other things, the connection of wireless headphones for the use of radio or audio playback.
Flashlight, alarm, calendar, alarm and magnifying glass
It has a magnifying glass of up to 4 increases through the camera.
The phone incorporates a flashlight that is activated by a side switch.
The phone includes in its menu under the "organizer" icon functionalities such as the calendar, alarm and easy-to-use calculator.
Accessibility
As a novelty compared to other terminals, this has a voice reading of the numbers and an auditory charge indicator.
Menus and keys feature large letters and symbols with good contrast.
The terminal is compliant with the HAC-M4 / T standard.
Conclusion
The Facitel FS22 is an affordable mobile phone that incorporates most of the desirable features in a senior phone. It is a telephone, in general terms, easy to use and adapted to those common vision or hearing difficulties in the elderly.
